VST caught a 3.9 percent lift today, and the catalyst wasn't even Vistra's own deal. Google and Constellation Energy announced nuclear power contracts totaling roughly 3,590 megawatts — capacity earmarked for AI data centers — and the market immediately bid up the entire nuclear sector. That's how power stocks work in this moment: one signed hyperscaler contract re-rates the entire peer group, because always-on, carbon-free electricity is genuinely scarce and getting harder to source at scale. Vistra is arguably the better cash-flow story in this space — unlike Talen, it hasn't had to pre-sell future revenues just to fund a buyback. Watch whether Vistra lands its own direct hyperscaler agreement. That's the move that takes it from sympathy trade to lead story.
