RTX
RTX dropped 3.7 percent today, and the State Department's 4.5 billion dollar KC-46A tanker approval for Qatar tells most of the story. That jet is a Boeing aircraft. Pratt and Whitney, which RTX owns, builds the engines for it — so there is real content here for RTX shareholders. But engine revenue on a platform sale is a fraction of what the prime contractor collects, and defense investors know that math cold. The read is that the market was hoping for something more direct: Raytheon electronics, missiles, targeting systems. What came out of Washington was a Boeing headline with RTX in a supporting role. Watch whether Qatar's broader defense modernization budget opens a second door for RTX's core product lines. The tanker is in. The question is what follows it.
