DLR
DLR dropped 5 percent today, and the catalyst is Texas. Governor Greg Abbott's audit of ERCOT's data-center interconnection queue — ordered in August — is back in focus, and the numbers are sobering: 474 gigawatts of pending power requests, more than five times the state's entire installed generation capacity. The interconnection queue is the clearance list every new data center must pass before it can pull power from the grid. Digital Realty has material Texas exposure. A regulatory freeze on that queue means delayed openings and deferred revenue. Meanwhile, the company announced a joint venture today — a 22-megawatt Ankara campus with Rönesans Infrastructure — which is real international diversification. But new capital commitments at a moment of domestic uncertainty is a complicated story. Abbott's final audit conclusions are the hinge. Caps versus delays is a very different equation.
