INTC +7.7% on unconfirmed SK Hynix manufacturing talks

The 10-year Treasury yield registered 5.01% at Wednesday's close. By Thursday's afternoon session, yields had retreated below that level and semiconductor stocks moved sharply higher. The 30-year mortgage rate registered 6.95% on Thursday; the VIX held at 17.7, absorbing the rate move without a volatility event.
$INTC +7.7% — SK Hynix exploratory talks
Intel was the session's largest single-stock move. Reports of exploratory talks between Intel and SK Hynix over U.S.-based chip manufacturing sent $INTC up 7.7%. Neither company has confirmed any agreement, and available accounts describe the conversations as preliminary. Intel's CEO separately flagged soaring memory prices during the session, pulling Micron higher in sympathy.
$AMD +6.4% — semiconductor sector, third consecutive advance
$AMD added 6.4% Thursday as the Philadelphia Semiconductor Index posted its third straight gain. Monday's issue covered Lisa Su's $48.2 million share sale; the follow-on today is a second AMD executive filing a $8.1 million scheduled sale — plan-based, not a discretionary transaction. AMD's year-to-date return stands near 156%.
$COIN +5.8% — Clarity Act failure and AI-agent positioning
Two days after the Senate failed to advance the Clarity Act, CEO Brian Armstrong told media there is "another path." Armstrong also publicly positioned $COIN as the payment infrastructure layer for AI agents making autonomous purchases — a thesis that extends the addressable market beyond crypto trading. The stock added 5.8%.
$ORCL +5.2% and $PSX +3.6%
$ORCL rose 5.2% after reaffirming that its Project Jupiter data center in New Mexico proceeds under existing county permits. The company carries a $664 billion backlog; restructuring has improved the cost structure, though free cash flow remains deeply negative. $PSX gained 3.6% after BMO Capital raised its price target from $260 to $310 (Outperform maintained), citing refining-margin resilience and midstream stability. PSX's Q3 earnings webcast is scheduled for October 28.

What we set aside
Nine filings disclosed Thursday had underlying events exceeding the 36-hour freshness gate. Two tickers in Thursday's sweep — $EQIX and $WELL — produced no substantive news in the window.
The desk is watching Friday's 10-year yield print and whether the semiconductor sector sustains a fourth consecutive advance.
