AVGO Q2 revenue +48% on earnings; ORCL declares $0.50 dividend

Broadcom and Oracle report simultaneously; Adobe's CFO exits the same day the company posts record Q2 results.

Thursday closed with back-to-back major earnings disclosures from two enterprise-technology heavyweights and a CFO departure that complicated an otherwise clean reporting day for a third.

Broadcom Q2: the standout quarter

$AVGO reported Q2 revenue up 48% year-over-year and net income up 88% in the same period. Numbers at that magnitude, in the current rate environment, do not require editorial amplification. Broadcom's AI-infrastructure exposure — custom silicon for hyperscaler clients, high-speed networking — has been the consistent driver of volume acceleration. The Q2 print extends that trajectory rather than departing from it.

Oracle Q4 and a dividend

$ORCL filed its fiscal Q4 2026 results for the quarter ended May 31 and simultaneously announced cash dividends of $0.50 per common share and $1.625 per preferred share, both payable in July 2026. Oracle has spent several quarters repositioning its cloud-infrastructure business as a credible alternative to the dominant hyperscalers. The dividend declaration alongside Q4 results indicates management's confidence in near-term cash generation; full financial detail is in the press release attached to the 8-K.

Adobe: record quarter, CFO departure

$ADBE disclosed that CFO Daniel Durn has resigned — the same filing cycle in which the company reported what it characterized as record Q2 results. The pairing forces investors to hold two ideas simultaneously: trailing performance is clean; executive continuity is not. CFO departures carry execution risk independent of the most recent quarter's numbers, and the successor's identity, timeline, and any resulting guidance commentary are the variables now.

Amazon's term loan

$AMZN disclosed a term loan agreement executed with a syndicate of major lenders. For an investment-grade borrower at Amazon's scale, a term facility is a routine balance-sheet transaction. The disclosure is notable for crossing the materiality threshold, not because it indicates financial stress. Full terms will appear in the 8-K filing.

Three scheduled insider sales

Three Form 4 filings crossed the $1 million threshold Thursday. $MSFT's Chief Marketing Officer sold $1.03 million in shares. $TSLA's CFO disposed of $1.05 million in stock through an automatic tax-withholding mechanism tied to equity vesting — a mechanical transaction, not a discretionary one. $LLY's executive vice president sold 2,500 shares for $2.88 million under a Rule 10b5-1 plan established in February. None of the three carries informational weight about management's view of their respective stocks.

Filings desk

Oracle's Q4 earnings 8-K (filed June 10) and Eli Lilly's Form 4 ($2.88 million disposition, filed June 10) are the primary filings of record. Two additional filings were examined and set aside — the underlying events were more than 36 hours old at time of disclosure.

What we set aside

Twenty tickers in Thursday's 30-ticker sweep — including $AAPL, $META, $NFLX, $JPM, and $INTC — produced no substantive filings or news within the review window.

The desk is watching for Adobe's CFO successor announcement and any analyst-estimate revisions following Broadcom's Q2 numbers.
