Walmart Q1 net income +19% to $5.3B; Salesforce revenue up 13%

Friday closed on a pair of earnings prints with more weight than most. $WMT reported Q1 net income of $5.3 billion, up 19% year-over-year on 7% revenue growth. $CRM posted Q1 revenue growth of 13% versus the prior year. Both crossed the tape before the weekend, with a secondary cluster of insider selling across four names adding texture to the close.
$WMT — $5.3B net income, revenue +7%
A 19% net income gain is a significant print at Walmart's scale. Revenue growth of 7% alongside it argues that the improvement is not purely a cost story — the top line expanded in parallel. Walmart has drawn contributions in recent quarters from its advertising and international segments; Friday's result is consistent with that trajectory, though segment-level detail was not in scope for this sweep. One Walmart director also sold $2.3 million in shares within the same window; Form 4 detail in the Filings Desk below.
$CRM — Revenue +13%
Salesforce's 13% Q1 revenue growth keeps the company expanding at a rate that carries weight for an enterprise platform of its size. The sector has faced sustained questions about IT budget compression; a 13% top-line result pushes back on the tighter read. This sweep did not surface operating income, EPS, or forward guidance figures, so the revenue number stands on its own.
Insider cluster: $AAPL, $META, $COIN
Three additional large insider sales cleared the gate Friday. $AAPL director Arthur Levinson sold $15.6 million in shares — the largest single transaction in the day's sweep. $META COO Javier Olivan sold $5.1 million on May 26. $COIN Chief People Officer sold $3.9 million in Coinbase stock. Officer and director sales are routine disclosures that often follow pre-scheduled plans or RSU vesting events; the concentration across multiple names in a single session is worth logging, not a conclusion.
Filings desk
Two Walmart Form 4 disclosures hit May 28. Director C. Douglas McMillon sold 19,416 shares at $118.63 per share — approximately $2.3 million — under a Rule 10b5-1 plan established during an open trading window. EVP Latriece Watkins separately sold 11,000 shares at $118.97 per share for $1.31 million; Watkins retains 120,203 shares directly plus additional 401(k) holdings. Both are routine pre-scheduled filings.
What we set aside: Two proxy and governance filings — board mechanics without a tradeable event — did not clear the gate. Six disclosures were held as stale, tied to events more than 36 hours old at filing time. Twenty-two tickers in the sweep produced no filings or substantive news in the window.
The desk is watching whether Salesforce's Q2 guidance, when it arrives, confirms or qualifies the 13% revenue rate established in Q1.
